Violent criticism after Ubisoft announced the addition of cryptocurrency NFTs to its games.

Ubisoft recently announced the start of adding non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to its games, which will be initially implemented in Ghost Recon Breakpoint this week, according to the new announcement, but it seems that this will not be welcomed by players around the world.

Quoting from the VGC website, and since the first moments of announcing support for NFTs in playing it, through a new video that was published on the American Ubisoft channel, the video received a great deal of interaction during the first hours of publication, and most of this interaction was through comments critical of the new system, in addition to the video getting Dislike, which is the highest so far.

At the time of writing this report, there were more than 110,000 views of the video, 16,270 different interactions made by viewers, and there were more than 804 likes, while the video was not liked by more than 15,466 users. This means that the percentage of positive posts is currently just under 5%.

For those who don't know much about NFTs, they are unique, irreplaceable units of data stored in a digital ledger that users can buy and sell.

Ubisoft will implant NFTs into its games through its Ubisoft Quartz platform, which it considers the first platform for NFTs in AAA games.

Support for NFTs in Ubisoft games will be released this week in beta with the PC version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, where players will be able to get "Digits," which are collectible vehicles, weapons, and pieces of equipment within the game. Digits will be released as part of limited packages, each consisting of a limited number of cosmetic items.
